I am an Associate Professor, Lee Heng Fellow, in the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management (ISOM), School of Business and Management, at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). I joined the department in July 2017.
I am also the Director of the Center for Business and Social Analytics (CBSA).
My research interests are natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, statistical inference, and their applications in finance and business.
I obtained a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Northwestern University in 2015, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2009.
I interned at IBM T.J.Watson Research and Amazon AWS.
